about private home care services

Private Home Care support services are fee-for-service and full cost of care paid for from your own income, home care options that are not subsidised by the Australian Government. The subsidised and funded Australian Government programs are called the Home Care Packages and the Commonwealth Home Support program. These require assessments, approval, and can be put on waiting list. However, under the Private In-Home Care, you can access care and support services at any age, for any length of time (on a short or long-term basis), and without any restrictions or needing to first complete an Australian Government Assessment (ACAT and ACAS).

Anyone is eligible and there is no need for Australian Government approval and waiting time/waiting list, you can come onboard when you need and are ready to. When you join Abito Care and Support Services as a Private Home Care client, whether you need help for as little as one hour per week or 24 hours per day, we work with you, your family, and your other support systems to create a tailored/person-centred care plan for you, to meet your individual care needs and life goals (both short and long-term ones).

These Private Home Care Support Services are suitable for people who:

  • have been approved for either partial or full Australian Government funded, and subsidised Home Care services called Home Care Packages but are needing care and supports before their Home Care Packages commence OR need additional hours of Care and Support Services.
  • People who are on the waiting list for the Australian Government Funded, and subsidised Home Care Packages.People who are not eligible for the Aged Care Australian Government Funded, and Subsidised Home Care Packages because of their income OR those who are not eligible for the NDIS approved and funded Services due to being over 65 years of age.
